The portrait of my thoughts

Art by Mezay Ugbo
Deaf I am to all flattery,
but blind I am not.
My brain churns all day
though the past I’ve forgotten.
Lack I the inner eye to prophesy;
it thus aides me to the top.
I keep busy running necessary errands
and seldom go yonder.
The world needs not the proud but the potent,
as the lone ranger, in the desert, needs not the mirage but water.
You see, my mouth is shut
but my actions speak.
